Aether Kingdoms now has unique pixel art for all 48 buildings! This was a major effort and we're happy it's done. Aether Kingdoms is now fully human-made. On top of that, we added a reworked map you can drag and zoom, report filters and squished a lot of bugs.

Features added

  • Added filtering options to reports. You can now filter on all, attack, defend, move, scout, trade and other.
  • You can now mark a report as unread.
  • Reworked the map so it can be navigated with dragging instead of arrow buttons. You can also change the zoom level.
  • Added new building pixel art.

Balance changed

  • Cancelling ongoing science and culture projects is now free of Aether cost. This includes a builder refund.
  • The Gathering warband event no longer awards Aether on the last wave.
  • The Native ambush event was changed to work like the Native outpost event. The ambush now has between 5 and 7 stages. Instead of growing in size every stage, it now gives an increasing Aether reward per stage. The chance to spawn a next event is 30% at stages 1, 3 and 4.

Improvements made

  • The Empire name in an invite is now a link to the Empire profile.
  • The icons for Native ambush and Gathering warband events were changed so they don't use the same icons as other events.
  • Added an accessibility toggle for changing the border styles on the map instead of only relying on colour.
  • All combat events now show the same information in the tooltip.

Bugs squashed

  • You can no longer turn in a science reward if no research is active.
  • Cancelling a queue item without paying Aether no longer shows up as Aether spent in the stats.
  • The tasks completed counter now updates when the village reloads.
  • Village culture/science projects at very low values (1-2) no longer go faster than intended.
  • Empire invite management is once again shown if you have the right permissions.
  • Aether spent on cancelling queue items now shows on the graphs in Kingdom statistics.
  • Culture and science event rewards are now no longer swapped in Kingdom statistics.
  • Attempting to scout an incoming attack on reinforce is now treated as a scout instead of a reinforcement.
  • The resource timer no longer breaks when production is 0.
  • A traderoute with all 0 values can no longer be activated.
  • Supply events that are completed but don't spawn a follow-up event no longer spawn the failure option.
